Powell Valley Library

Powell Valley Elementary was very honored to have the family of C.L. Moyers and wife Helen come to our library and present us with numerous books donated by their granddaughter, Jan Moyers Crossett, of Jackson, Tennessee. Those present at this occasion were John Moyers (son of C.L. and Helen Moyers); and Jan Moyers Crossett (donor); Early Perkins, principal; Mary Smith, librarian; Blake Hopper, library assistant, and Nila McNew, Literacy Leader. C. L. Moyers taught and was principal at Powell Valley High School for many years, and was Superintendent of Claiborne County for 16 years. His wife Helen Moyers taught at Powell Valley Elementary for many years. Thank you Moyers family!

Happy Dr. Seuss Day!

On Tuesday March 2nd it may have snowed, but P.V.E.S. held its annual Dr. Seuss Day events anyway. Students got to wear their pajamas, have a parade and listen to various community members that came out to read to them. We would like to thank everyone that helped with Dr. Seuss Day. We would also like to thank Miss Nila for putting it all together. For more on Dr. Seuss Day, including pictures, please go to the library website.
