Mr. Dan Redmond, Principal

Early in Mr. Redmond's career he taught and coached basketball at Midway for many years. He left Midway to pursue an administration position at Forge Ridge Consolidated School and Powell Valley High School . Returning to Midway has made Mr. Redmond's career full circle.


It is our pleasure to welcome you to Midway School. The faculty and staff are happy to have you as a part of the Midway family. We hope this website will be an anhancement to all of our school information. We believe that open and clear communication between school and home is important to the success of our educational program. We feel that the handbook in addition to this website will serve as a helpful reference for parents as you seek to provide academic support at home. Parents and families will be able to keep up with upcoming events, stay abreast with classroom happenings and get the answers to many questions you may have throughout the school year. Midway families are our partners in the important job of educating the children of this community. Together we can be successful!

 

 

Mrs. Sharon Tolliver, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Tolliver has been a member of the Midway Family since completing her educational career at Mars Hill College in North Carolina in 1991. She has taught at various grade levels and is most recognized as "Coach Tolliver" for the Lady Red Devils basketball team.

 

 

 

 

Mrs. Betty Widner, School Secretary

When you walk into our school you will be welcomed by the smiling face of our school secretary. In addition to making visitors feel welcome, Mrs. Widner takes care of all student registration , student records and everything else it takes to run our school smootly!

 

 

 

Mrs. Suzanne Anders, Literacy Leader

Mrs. Suzanne has been a long time member of the Midway family. She has taught at various grade levels since graduting from LMU in 1991. As Literacy Leader, Suzanne coordinates testing for the students and works closely with teachers to ensure all students are receiving appropriate reading interventions. You may see Suzanne juggling various hats within the school! If you have questions concerning your child's progress in reading you may schedule an appointment to sit down with Suzanne to discuss them.

 

Mrs. Sherry Hickman, Guidance Counselor

Mrs. Hickman has changed her role within our schoool. After teaching 6th grade for many years, Mrs. Hickman has become our school guidance counselor. Sherry goes into each classroom once a week to work with students on approprite social behavior and other areas of need. She also spends much of her time being available for individual conferences with students. Mrs. Hickman is another faculty member you may see many times throughout the building.
