| PTO--Midway has a very active parent teacher organization (PTO). PTO sponsors three major events each school year: the Fall Festival, Santa's Workshop and a spring field day. Each of these events help provide financial support for classroom and school needs. This year our PTO president is Mrs. Tina Johnson and she welcomes your help and support. Mrs. Tina can be reached at Midway during the daytime hours. |

The Booster Club--Parents of Midway basketall players have joined together to form the Booster Club. The Booster Club provides rewards trips and motivational tools for athletic participation, provides up-to-date equipment for saftey, and purchases uniforms. Parent Volunteers--Parents are welcome to volunteer in their child's classroom. Due to state and federal safety guidelines parents are required to be fingerprinted at the central office. Once fingerprinted, volunteers are welcome to schedule regular volunteer sessions within the school as well as any unscheduled visits. Parent /Teacher Conferences--There are 2 scheduled opportunities for parents to visit with their child's classroom teacher to voice concerns and discuss successes. Parents are always welcome to schedule appointments with classroom teachers if the need arises throughout the schoool year. Open House--During the beginning weeks of the new school year Midway hosts an open house for family members to come and visit the school. During this time parents and students can tour the school and "get to know" the faculty. Family Literacy Night--A popluar event for students and parents is held each fall or spring known as family literacy night. On this night students and their families can come to school to participate in a night of reading fun. Students are awarded a free book and families are presented many valuable resources to help their children become successful lifelong readers. All families participating join together with faculty members for a delicious meal in the cafeteria.
