Welcome to the Department of Library Media Services
Claiborne County School Librarians are friendly faces that are here to support our students and faculty. Our libraries serve as the nucleus of our schools. Our libraries and librarians help students with information literacy, technology, research, collaboration, and fostering the love of reading, with the goal of academic, social, and emotional growth for every student to be college and/or career ready.
Mission
The Claiborne County Schools Department of Library Media Services seeks to promote a culture of literacy and learning to enhance achievement and foster independent readers, self-directed learners, and responsible digital citizens.
Vision
The Claiborne County Schools Department of Library Media Services of the Claiborne Schools promotes the development of independent reading habits and information literacy skills. Our students will become critical readers who acquire, evaluate, and ethically use information to solve problems and investigate topics of interest. To facilitate this mission, we will provide available, flexible, and inviting learning spaces and access to updated digital and print resources that represent diverse perspectives. Our Library Media Specialists will collaborate with teachers and administrators to design learning experiences that support district goals and curriculum objectives.
